Open Source Events are professional and technical events focused on open source technologies and scripting languages. The goal of each conference is to bring together some of the world's leading speakers and business professionals to share their experience with students, developers and executives in a series of talks. Each event is designed to be an affordable alternative to US-based conferences and a means to get first hand knowledge from the leading open source experts in the world.

Each conference will be a jam packed one day event with leading speakers in the industry talking about the most important topics developers and executives are faced with and how to address the challenge with their experience.

This will be the second conference Open Source Events has hosted in the beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. OS Events organizes events on a recurrence of four months with each conference focusing on a specific topic. OS Events began in January of 2005 hosting its first event with capacity attendance of over 160 professionals from across North America. Attendees were treated to the speakers insights on Web Services. The keynote presentation for this event was done by Rasmus Lerdorf, the creator of the popular PHP programming language.
